Common Misconceptions About Remanufactured Toner Cartridges

Since the introduction of remanufactured toner cartridges and compatible toner cartridges, competition became more stiff in the toner cartridge market. To save their business from declining sales, manufacturers of OEM cartridges allegedly started campaigns that destroyed the reputation of remanufactured and compatible toner cartridges in terms of providing high quality printouts. This is aggravated by the introduction of third party manufacturers that prioritize lower price instead of product quality. Then out of nowhere, misconceptions about remanufactured toner cartridges began plaguing the market. These wrong notions have negative impact on remanufactured toner cartridge sales and public patronage. Below are the common misconceptions about remanufactured toner cartridges that you should be aware of:

Use of Remanufactured Cartridge will void your Printer Warranty

It is against American and European trade laws for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) to void your printer warranty if you use remanufactured toner cartridges.

Remanufactured Toner Cartridges are Inferior to OEM Cartridges

There is no significant difference in the quality of printed output between remanufactured cartridge and OEM cartridge. When you use remanufactured toner cartridge, you get the same quality but half the price of OEM.

Defective Toner Cartridges Damage Printers

Take note that toner cartridge is self contained and make limited contact with the rest of the printer. This will ensure that if the toner cartridge goes wrong, it will not affect the whole printer. All cartridges, OEM or remanufactured, deposit some toner inside the printer, and many of the new printers have a waste toner box to collect this.

Remanufacturers Reuse Toner Cartridges

This is not totally true because if they do, the toner cartridges will not work Toners cannot be reused because they were contaminated with dust and electrical charges during the printing process.

Third Party Toner is Inferior to OEM toner

OEMs and third party manufacturers are now using the same technology in making toners. Thus, the quality of both color and greyscale achieved by remanufacturers is similar to the quality that the OEMs achieved.

Remanufacturers just Replace the Toner in the Cartridges

Remanufacturers just don't replace the toners, they also replace worn or damaged components in the cartridges. Changing damaged parts is critical for the quality performance of cartridges that is why remanufacturers always check all parts of the cartridges if they are in good working condition.
