Canon Fires Back at Patent Infringing Printer Supply Companies

Canon has once again decided to take action against some of the bigger names in the aftermarket printer supply industry. In their complaints, filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York and the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) Canon accuses more than 30 companies of violating section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.The companies named as proposed respondents in the USITC complaint, filed January 23, 2012 are as follows:

This isn't the first time Canon has taken action against companies they've alleged to have infringed on their patents. On June 28, 2010 Canon filed a complaint with the USITC, alleging 20 respondents of importing products that infringe upon their patents, selling them for importation, or selling these products within the United States after importation. The investigation confirmed Canon's allegations, and concluded in May 5, 2011.
