Coming March 5th, 2012, Hewlett Packard is releasing two new lines of their famed LaserJet printers. One, the LaserJet  M600 series, directed towards small businesses, and the LaserJet Enterprise M4555 MFP (Multi-Function Printer) series directed for enterprises, or companies with higher print volumes. As always, HP introduces new advancements and features with these new lines.

In addition to introducing these two series of printers, HP has them tiered into 3 sub models each, allowing businesses to choose the best printer for their needs, as well as their budget. To start, we'll take a look at the flagship model of the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555 series, the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555fskm MFP (CE504A). With a hefty price tag of $4,499.00, its sure to be feature packed. As the MFP name implies, this is an all-in-one style printer that allows you to print, copy, scan (to USB, or digitally sent to your station) and fax your documents. Like most modern scanners, the M4555 series offers flatbed glass plate scanning, as well as an automatic document feeder. Scan speeds boast rates up to 57 pages per minute. The flatbed scanner and ADF also double as the copier, boasting speeds up to 55 copies per minute. Also a plus, the smaller footprint of the M4555 Series frees up floor space and makes it easy to place it in more convenient areas in the office.

For a $1,000 savings, you can opt for the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555f MFP (CE503A) which lacks the stapling mailbox that the M4555fskm has, and less paper input capacity and options. The printing specs are pretty much identical. At this point, you're paying for the additional features and bells and whistles, not better performance and yield. At $2,799.00 you can go with the base model of the enterprise series, the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555h MFP (CE738A). It still has many of the features as its bigger brothers, but with even less features and a much smaller input capacity. But don't be fooled, this thing is still a printing powerhouse. New HP LaserJet 600 Printer series

For those who aren't looking to spend over $2,500 on a multi-function printer just yet, don't worry, HP has an offering for you as well with the introduction of the HP LaserJet M600 Series Monochrome Printers. Starting at $699.00 for the M601n printers, these black and white printers offer plenty for their price tag. Starting at 45 PPM, the print speed on these printers are decently fast and leaps and bounds above older HP 4500 or 4200 series printers.

Unlike the Enterprise MFP series, when you step up from the M601 to the M602, you do get better performance from the printers. The M602 boasts a whopping 52 PPM. Additionally, you have options to bump up your input sheet capacity from 600 sheets to 1100 sheets standard. Any of the 600 series printers can be configured to accept as much as 3600 sheets maximum with the use of additional stackers and bins. The top tier model of the 600 series, the M603 boasts an amazing 62 PPM, that's 1 sheet in less than a second! However, at those speeds, be prepared to spend around $1,400 which is the price tag for the lower model. Check out the specs for each printer on HP's page here.

The best part about the new lines is that they ALL use the same toner cartridges! With the new series comes a new toner cartridge. HP is branding it the 90A (standard yield) and the 90X (high yield). The 90A features a astounding 10,000 page yield, that's already more than many of the high-yield cartridges on the market. The 90X more than doubles that at 24,000 pages. With these capacities, it's no surprise that the OEM pricing for these toner cartridges are $175 and $290 respectively. However, there is a cheaper, greener alternative when you buy re-manufactured cartridges at TonerGreen. We offer remanufactured 90A cartridges for only $80.00 and the 90X for just $92.00! These are built right here in the USA from the hands of hard working Americans with quality materials.
