On a previous article, we showed three amazing green printer concepts that was introduced by environment-enthusiast namely the RITI Printer that used coffee and tea dregs as ink by Jeon Hwan Ju, Tanning Printer that uses the sun solar's energy and Pencil Printer that gets it ink from pencil graphite by Ho Young Lee. If you have been amazed with those printers then no doubt, you'll definitely like this new printer concept I found in the internet, the Instant Printer Cartridge.
The Instant Printer Cartridge is a cartridge technology designed by Chia-Chen Hsiao and Yuexun Chen that can print without the need of installing it to the printer unit. This works because the cartridge is the printer itself. Designed for only small pictures, this cartridge/printer's package is built from recycled paper, protecting the ink cartridge inside. Users can use this printer by connecting it on any peripheral devices via USB and works on battery.
- Sequence of Use
- Take a picture using a digital camera, smart phone or gadget.
- Tear out the cartridge's side package.
- Connect the device to the Instant Printer Cartridge
- Choose the photo you want to print then get your fresh print.
According Yanko Design, the concept of design comes from the milk box in our everyday living. The size of the printer is according to the paper size it could take, and the number on the package shows how many pages it could print. The user simply tear the green protect line, connect to the USB and then print. The idea came from "package is the product itself". Aside from being portable like a digital camera, the Instant Printer Cartridge's recycled paper package could easily be disassembled for recycle.
With such amazing concepts, we could only cross our fingers to wish that these would hit the market in the near future. But for now, you can still help the Earth from further damage through your printing habits by choosing remanufactured toner cartridges and remanufactured inkjet cartridges instead.
