On our previous articles this week, I introduced a couple of futuristic printer concepts mainly The See What You Print Touchscreen Printer and the Samsung Circular Printer. Both designs possess out-of-the-box ideas that have sure fascinated our concepts of what the future technology can offer. This time around, though, it's not just a concept, I'm going to introduce, but a real mobile printer that has been out in the market for a couple of years--The Polaroid PoGo, also known as the Instant Mobile Printer.
The Polaroid PoGo is a pocket-sized, digital printer manufactured by the company Polaroid which uses the latest Zink or Zero ink printing technology that instantly prints your photos and images from your mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, USB devices and laptops which was released in the market in July 2008.
"The Polaroid PoGo is a small battery operated mobile printer that allows you to print your digital photos on the go," described iTechFuture.com. "With Bluetooth and Pict-Bridge support it’s possible to print photos from virtually all modern digital cameras and mobile phones."
"The small, black and silver printer is easily pocketable and comes in slightly smaller in volume than the power supply used to recharge its Li-ion battery," stated by Trusted Reviews.com. "It has a type one USB socket on the side to take a PictBridge cable from a camera and the only control is a power button. A pair of three-colour LEDs show charge and power status and prints feed out from a narrow slot in one end of the printer."
The Polaroid PoGo only weighs around 230 grams and has a dimension of 120mm x 72mm x 23.5mm and is rechargeable. As it is said, the Polaroid PoGo doesn't use inks so it doesn't require you to buy printer consumables such as ink cartridges or toner cartridges. It is available online in Amazon and Walmart for about $200. So if you love taking pictures and instantly want to see them printed, then you definitely would want to have a Polaroid PoGo in your hand.
