Tips on Saving Laser Toner Cartridges

For laser printer users, you definitely have an idea about how much laser toner cartridges can cost. Basically, one toner cartridge set can cost similar to a brand new unit of inkjet printer. However, consumers opt to see laser printers and laser toners as wiser products to buy especially if they have a high printing need since these two can print more than what inkjet printers can offer. And yet, don't you wish you can save while getting the best out of your printer and toner's worth? If you do, then that's what we're going to give you for today's article, regarding some tips you can do to save on your laser toner cartridges.

First, let's talk about your printer's eco-mode. Eco-mode or Econo-mode is a setting you can find on most  laser printers, which commands you printer to use minimal amount of ink or toner when printing documents. This is the best way to extend the life of your laser toner cartridges. Though putting this setting may cost a lighter color output of your documents, this works well when you're just printing monochromatic text-based documents.

Second, why don't you consider buying alternative printer cartridges. There are two kinds of alternative printer cartridges present in the market nowadays; these are remanufactured toner cartridges and compatible toner cartridges. Both alternative printer consumables cost lower than OEM printer cartridges, often save 40 to 50% of your typical printing expenses.

Another thing is that you should always proofread your documents before clicking the print button. Print Preview is an icon in your word editor menu that can help you scan your word documents before printing them. Check them for excess spaces or typo errors so you won't have to print another copy if ever the first print job had a lot of errors. This will help you avoid wasting not only the ink and toner in your printer cartridge but save paper and conserve energy as well.

Lastly, if you can, go paperless by exporting your documents to PDF files. In present time where there are programs available that could help you export your Microsoft Word Documents into PDF formats that have similar format to the Print Preview interface but are more readable and could be open through the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
